March 2014 - glorious Spring day!

Views from behind Brackenrigg - a wonderland of private wildnerness, never anyone here, views, crags, tarns, streams and picnics spots...bliss, and just 10mins walk up the fell!

A bimble around the lake foreshore

Spring is here! A blue sky, and a warm day, what better than a stroll around Derwentwater foreshore. There is still fresh snow on the fells, particularly over Helvellyn, beautiful in the blue sky...

Sunday stroll around Grasmere

Grasmere Lake, always a favourite, clear reflections, and Spring on its way with catkins out already.

A bit of rain, then a rainbow.....and some chaps messing about on boats; one caught a 24lb pike! Glad I wasn't swimming with that thing around!

January 2014, and amble round Buttermere

Buttermere, one of my favourite, small but beautifully formed, with the fells coming round down to the shores, and the views out to the West just lovely.

A quiet day with few others around, this usual honeypot was so tranquil and calm. A perfect bimble....

Christmas 2013

Christmas and New Year 2013

Some lovely days despite the wild winds, and rain...these are from a flat low level walk around Naddle and St John's in the Vale; lovely for a quick stroll out when the weather is a bit inclement for the tops.

Monday, 4 November 2013

4th November and the sky is blue, the air crisp, and even a dusting of snow on the highest fells....what a fabulous day!

Bonfire night at Newton Rigg tomorrow, fireworks against the backdrop of the northern fells....how wonderful will that be?
